Update and a Question

leave a comment »

As an update to this post, wanted to mention I heard another ad tonight. Different, but in the same vein.

I’ve discussed this with a couple of people, and we are not quite sure what to think of this. It just seems too out there that it just can’t be legitimate. Yes, I know, Duke himself ran for governor. As I recall, that didn’t work out too well.

I am wondering if perhaps this isn’t some sort of setup. The hard lefties out there seem to have no problem throwing around the charge of “raaaaacist!” to anyone who questions any policy points the Precious Messiah is attempting to implement, even though the vast majority of us over here on the right have been railing against any sort of socialist expansion of government, and up until now has been fronted by white men. Wouldn’t it be more racist to suddenly abandon my quest of lower taxes and smaller government just because President Obama happens to be Black?

But is it so out there that a leftist organization would put up websites, links, spending God-only-knows how much cash on radio ads, might set this up to be able to point to it and say “See???? All those Tea Party people are just like that!”?

The only thing that makes me think that might not be the case is that there appears to be no connection to traditional Republican platform points, and no mention of Tea Parties, at least from what I’ve heard.

Does anyone know anything about this? Is this clown for real?

And lastly, if you attend Tea Parties, Town Halls, whatever, do not let anyone push any sort of violent or racial ideas. If you are in the crowd, and see or hear anyone doing anything like that, get a camera on them, point them out, make sure everyone knows who exactly it was that said it. That way, we can either prove they are trying to “plant” problems in there, or we can get them out before they taint the rest of it.

Dingell Speaks The Truth

leave a comment »

They say a ‘gaffe’ to a politician is when they accidentally tell the truth. In this case, Rep John Dingell let a cat out of the bag.

“Control The People.”

As I have said since long before I started writing here, total control was the goal, not this lofty goal of getting poor people health insurance.

He made another mistake in that clip, by the way, saying this was going to help “three hundred” people. I think its safe to say he actually meant to say three hundred million people, roughly the population of the United States.

But that only goes more towards what they really want. This is supposed to be helping something like 40 million people who are uninsured. So we are going to control 300 million people and how they get their health care. So much for the endless promises of President Obama and every flunky on down that we can keep whatever plan we happen to like.

Palin’s “Reality” Show

leave a comment »

A couple of weeks ago, some were breathlessly blathering about Gov. Sarah Palin and Mark Burnett shopping a “reality” show around the TV networks. Seems like it might be a done deal now.

Sounds about as far from the image conjured up by the term “reality show” as one can get. A Discovery Channel travel series focusing on the sights Alaska has to offer sounds like it would be pretty interesting.

Perhaps MrsJamesLee and I can spring for that new widescreen hi-def set before this airs.

A Little Tree Trimming

leave a comment »

From the AP:

CHICAGO (AP) – The once mighty community activist group ACORN announced Monday it is folding amid falling revenues – six months after video footage emerged showing some of its workers giving tax tips to conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute.

From the tiny ACORN comes the mighty…. Well, maybe not.

We have to give thanks to James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles for having the courage and motivation to persue this story, and Andrew Brietbart for bringing it to light.

However, don’t think this battle is over. By several accounts, all that is folding is the national organization. Most of the local chapters still exist, still have the same people, perform the same tasks as before. Many have simply renamed themselves. And if anyone thinks there is not any sort of national coordination going on, you are likely sadly mistaken.

With upcoming midterm elections starting to take shape, and by all accounts will be a very contentious fight, don’t expect the lefties to just give us this ground. They will still be out there, using every tool they can, including the remnants of ACORN, to gin up support, raise money, and swell the rolls with new registrants.

Keep your eyes open, and let us all know if you see any kind of shady behavior.

As If We Don’t Have Enough To Worry About

leave a comment »

I was floored by a campaign ad that a few moments ago was played on Kansas City’s KMBZ.  As I listened, I swore that it must be some sort of joke, or schtick.  Afterwards, after giving a phone number, website, and the “I approve of this message” tag, the station  added that they were required by campaign laws to carry the ad, but did not necessarily agree with it.

It would appear that we have a Neo Nazi pushing for a write-in campaign for the Missouri US Senate seat being vacated by the retiring Christopher Bond.  I checked the website just to see what the hades was this all about.  The watermark/background, and the mouse pointer are Confederate Battle Flags.  Links at this site include the WPP, and Stormfront.  Along with a lengthy diatribe about how a certain type of person controls the media, and photos of a certain type of marching parade/protest with a less-than-popular (or accepted in polite society) group.

Now, just as I have previously said in regards to the dirtbag Fred Phelps, this individual is certainly entitled to their opinion.  And they are perfectly free to run for any office they choose, espousing whatever beliefs they wish, provided they meet the constitutional requirements of that office.  I will not, nor would I ever, demand that this person drop their candidacy, or take down their website.  Freedom means freedom for all.  Just because I don’t agree with their opinion, and actually happen to think it’s just plain hateful and crazy, does not negate the freedom to express it.

I’ll be damned, however, if I’m going to name their name, or link to their site.  (Yeah, like I’m suddenly some internet media mogul!  lol)  You want to see this stuff, internet search engines are your friend.

A Silver Lining to a Dark Day

leave a comment »

There is an old saying that says there is no great loss without some small gain.

As detailed earlier, I believe there was great damage done to the Republic last night by House Democrats.

However, there is a bit of good news:  I just got confirmation of my ticket purchase to the Winning America Back conference with featured speaker Sarah Palin.  It appears I’ve gotten pretty good seats, so I am anxiously looking forward to meeting, or at least hearing in person, my latest Political Heroine!

A Dark Day in America

leave a comment »

House Democrats last night delivered a very hard body blow to the concept of freedom and liberty. I am of course, talking about the Health Care bill passed entirely by the Democrats.

With this new monstrous package becoming law, likely later this week, our health industry will no longer function as it does.  Prices will go up, doctors and other professionals will leave the system, and the government will mandate how a private insurance company does business like very few other things in this nation.  Never has such a draconian change been forced on the citizens of this country by so few in a minority.

By any measure, an overwhelming majority of Americans did not want this.  Yet, the Democrats pulled every stop they could, right, wrong, or shady, in order to usher this to the finish line.  Mark my words, statist liberals, we will remember this in the fall.

Of course, as I’ve said all along, this is not about providing health care, or insurance, or controlling prices.  This is about naked, blatant control.  I also believe that with the President’s obvious low opinion of the United States, the Coward and Piven strategy is fully in play.  (For those that don’t know, that involves overloading existing systems, causing an internal collapse of government.  When that happens, those that caused the collapse will be free to impose their own will.)  With the projected spending involved in this, the nation can not last much longer.

This fight is not over.  Several states are lined up to file lawsuits against the mandates imposed with this.  I expect the legal fight to drag on for quite some time, possibly winding up with the Supreme Court.  Never in our history has there been anything mandated about requiring purchase of a product as a prerequisite to citizenship, and that’s exactly what this does.

Barring all else, there is also the slight, outside chance that this could repealed by a future congress.  I doubt it would happen after the elections this fall, as there is no way the Republicans can end up with two-thirds of the Senate, which would be required to overturn a Obama Veto.  Unless the new taxes coming immediately without providing service angers enough people, that several Democrat Senators could go along with repeal.

You know what you have to do, people.  Get out there, work with your Congressional candidates.  Donate, both time and money.  Write letters, make phone calls.  We have to take things back, as soon as possible.

A Little Inspiration

leave a comment »

This pretty much says it all.

Too often these days people and groups look to Washington to solve their problems.  While we certainly have the right, enshrined in the First Amendment, to petition our government for redress of grievances, there are many instances where people should look to themselves first.  There is rarely a one-size-fits-all answer to any and all problems.  And every single thing that the polititians in DC do does nothing but take more of your tax dollars to give to some other party.  It’s time we stuck closer to home and solved our own problems.  Washington should stick to doing what they are supposed to do, and very little else.

Spring Has Sprung

First day of spring here in the Kansas City area.  Such a beautiful day, with about 3 inches of global warming needing to be shoveled.  And supposed to get a couple more.

Hey Al Gore:  Go suck an egg!
