Sarah Palin Responds

leave a comment »

In response to President Obama’s less-than-tactful comments concerning America’s military strength, Sarah Palin speaks out:

Whether we like it or not? Most Americans do like it. America’s military may be one of the greatest forces for good the world has ever seen, liberating countless millions from tyranny, slavery, and oppression over the last 234 years. As a dominant superpower, the United States has won wars hot and cold; our military has advanced the cause of freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan and kept authoritarian powers like Russia and China in check.

Very well said! I hope she keeps hitting back at things like this. Maybe she’ll incorporate that response into upcoming speeches.

Is it May 1st yet?

Rather than swipe it from I’ll just send you to Hot Air’s post with her speech today with the Tea Party Express.

About twenty minutes long, worth the time to see it. Much of it is standard stump-type rallying cry, but its always good to see her get fired up, and get the crowd fired up as well.

Two weeks is going to be a long wait.

Wow! Just got word on who some of the “many other speakers” will be at the event we will be attending to see Sarah Palin.

Other speakers include The Fred! and Jeri Thompson, Liz Cheney, and J.C. Watts. Maybe we should have sprung for the front row with reception!

Going to be a great day.

Palin Inciting Violence?

leave a comment »

So I’m cruising through Drudge a few moments ago, and come across this story:

“When Sarah Palin uses gun analogies and gun imagery when she makes her political point, she may believe that she’s engaging in metaphor. But there are too many people who have twisted minds who might think that she’s being literal,” said Weiner.

Has Weiner been paying attention? Has he forgotten the years of enduring hateful attacks against George W. Bush, Dick Cheney? Including literally encouraging our enlisted soldiers to fire on their superior officers? How about the late-night ‘comedy’ routine showing crosshairs on the President saying “Snipers Wanted?”

And don’t even mention the hateful, personal attacks against Gov Palin herself, and her family. Perhaps Mr Weiner has forgotten the sexist remarks, and the accusations that Palin isn’t even a woman, because she holds conservative views.

Now that being said, I agree that threats, vandalism, and violence are not welcome in our political discourse. Anyone found perpetrating these acts should be prosecuted in accordance with applicable laws. No matter who they are or what ‘side’ they claim to represent. And the rest of us need to make certain that we make those advocating such attacks as unwelcome as possible.

I think the Democrats are trying to play this up as much as they can to their own PR advantage, even to the point of making money off the situation.

What say we just all calm down, and we’ll sort this out where we need to, in the arena of ideas and within the law.

Palin’s “Reality” Show

leave a comment »

A couple of weeks ago, some were breathlessly blathering about Gov. Sarah Palin and Mark Burnett shopping a “reality” show around the TV networks. Seems like it might be a done deal now.

Sounds about as far from the image conjured up by the term “reality show” as one can get. A Discovery Channel travel series focusing on the sights Alaska has to offer sounds like it would be pretty interesting.

Perhaps MrsJamesLee and I can spring for that new widescreen hi-def set before this airs.

A Silver Lining to a Dark Day

leave a comment »

There is an old saying that says there is no great loss without some small gain.

As detailed earlier, I believe there was great damage done to the Republic last night by House Democrats.

However, there is a bit of good news:  I just got confirmation of my ticket purchase to the Winning America Back conference with featured speaker Sarah Palin.  It appears I’ve gotten pretty good seats, so I am anxiously looking forward to meeting, or at least hearing in person, my latest Political Heroine!
